Tomatoes come in many shapes, sizes and colours. At Rocket Gardens we can supply a number of varieties in small plant form which will grow to provide tasty good looking tomatoes.
In the UK growing tomatoes under the cover of a greenhouse provides a better chance of a good crop but they can be grown successfully outside in the right conditions.
Tomatoes will also do well if grown in containers or grow bags.
If growing outdoors choose a sunny sheltered site in front of a south facing wall is ideal. Plant out in the warm weather of early summer. Where growing into the ground plant through biodegradable mulching paper using x shaped slits at each plant spacing. Provide each plant with a stake for support. Pick out all side shoots. Try making your own liquid feed using manure or nettle leaves soaked in water. If you don’t have time for this then look at the gardening products site for a suitable organic feed.
Give tomatoes plenty of water when they need it.
Greenhouse
Plant your Rocket Gardens tomato plants into grow bags or directly into good fertile soil (approximately 18inches (45cm) apart). Water the plant well before planting. Treat in a similar manner as outdoor tomatoes.
